Book Review: The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle

I have recently read The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle and I wholeheartedly recommend it!

In The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment, Eckhart Tolle stresses the importance of living in the present moment as the only way to transcend the pain and stresses of the past and the future.

This book was pivotal for me in realizing that, by taking control of our minds through the present moment, we access peace no matter the circumstance. The key is to stay present in your body and in the now so that nothing that arises can take away your peace.

While reading this, I felt myself become more present and aware of the energy within my body. I couldn’t help but practice being present as I was reading and I immediately noticed the changes happening in my mind and body. I become calmer, more peaceful and less worried about the future. This is a book that I will definitely revisit to master the power of Now.

Here are so notable reviews that do the book justice:

  • Oprah Winfrey: “'s gotten me through more crises than I can count. It truly helped me discover how to live in the now—to not linger on past mistakes, but to learn from them and then let them go. For me, this is the Mama Jama of super-soulful books. At every moment, it keeps me in a state of awe and amazement.”

  • O: The Oprah Magazine: “It can transform your thinking...The result? More Joy, right now!”

  • Deepak Chopra: “One of the best books to come along in years. Every sentence rings with truth and power."

The book also inspired:

  • Paris Hilton. "When Paris Hilton was incarcerated at the Century Regional Detention Facility in California in June 2007 she brought with her a copy of The Power of Now."

  • Annie Lennox and Tony Hawks. "Singer Annie Lennox chose The Power of Now as one of her "desert island books", as did the comedian Tony Hawks."

  • Katy Perry. "Singer Katy Perry stated that she was inspired to write "This Moment", a song from her 2013 album Prism, after she heard the audio book of The Power of Now."

About the author:

"Eckhart Tolle is a spiritual teacher.

In 2008, The New York Times called Tolle "the most popular spiritual author in the United States".

In 2011, he was listed by Watkins Review as the most spiritually influential person in the world.

In 2016, Tolle was named in Oprah's SuperSoul 100 list of visionaries and influential leaders.

Tolle is not identified with any particular religion, but he has been influenced by a wide range of spiritual works."

I hope this encourages you to pick up this book and start reading it right now. The Power of Now is so inspiring and I have no doubt that it will change your life for the better.
